The Bangladesh Army has launched an eco-resort in Sungsuwa Para, Bandarban, to promote socio-economic development for the indigenous Bom community, with an investment of approximately Tk 30 lakh. This initiative, implemented by the 16th Bengal Regiment, aims to create job opportunities, enhance tourist safety, and generate income to support local education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Brig Gen S M Raquib Ibne Rezwan highlighted the army's dedication to sustainable development in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, following a period of displacement due to violence in the region.
