Barcelona is purchasing 600 care robots, funded by the NextGenerationEU recovery fund, to assist elderly residents, particularly those facing cognitive decline. The robots, developed by Misty Robotics, are 1.35 meters tall and are designed to help with mobility, loneliness, and reminders. Costing 3.8 million euros, the initiative aims to address the challenges of an aging population in Spain, where nearly 2 million seniors live alone.
