NATURAL GAS

BC Hydro and Ksi Lisims LNG have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide up to 600 megawatts of clean electricity for a proposed floating LNG facility in Nisga'a Treaty Lands, which is projected to draw $30 billion in investment. The North Coast Transmission Line, set to begin construction in summer 2026 and be completed by 2030, aims to meet rising electricity demand in the region, creating approximately 9,700 jobs and generating nearly $10 billion annually in GDP. Both initiatives are recognized as nationally significant by the federal government, bolstering Canada’s role as a global LNG exporter.
