Bengkulu's Geothermal Wells Prepared for Electricity Supply, Awaiting Power Plant Development

In Lebong, Bengkulu, 24 geothermal wells are ready to supply electricity at a capacity of 2 x 55 megawatts, sufficient for approximately 244,000 homes. Despite being operational since 2020, the project awaits the completion of the PLN power plant.
Local officials emphasize the project's potential economic benefits and the need for coordination among stakeholders to address challenges. The government is currently in the process of tendering for the power plant, with hopes for construction to commence by January 2026.
