British Military to Conduct Drone Training at CFB Suffield, Alberta, Reviving Local Economy
DEFENSE
The British military will return to CFB Suffield in southern Alberta for drone training in June and July, five years after shifting major tank training out of the region. This initiative aims to boost local businesses and align with Medicine Hat's strategy to attract defence spending.
The British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) will create a centre for unmanned aircraft trials, as the UK military modernizes its tactics. Local officials see this as a chance to revitalize the economy and support aerospace development.
