Canada plans to invest $2.6 billion to double its troop presence in Latvia, increasing the deployment to up to 2,200 soldiers as part of NATO's enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group. Despite ongoing issues with the Spike missile contract, the Department of National Defence has confirmed that the contract will not be canceled. This initiative, known as Operation Reassurance, aims to counter Russian aggression in the region.
