NATURAL GASDATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE
Capital Power plans to invest $3 billion in upgrading the Hummel Station Power Plant in Shamokin Dam, Pennsylvania, following its acquisition of the facility in July. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is currently inviting comments on an Air Quality Plan Approval for the uprate of three natural gas-fired turbines, with a capacity increase approved by PJM Interconnection set to be completed by 2027. The investment aims to establish partnerships to supply power to A.I. data center companies.
