CEB to Restore Two Generators at Norochcholai Coal Power Plant by Early January
HYDRO POWER
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) reported that two generating units at the Norochcholai Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant are currently offline for repairs, resulting in a loss of 600 megawatts of capacity. One unit has been under scheduled maintenance since November 3, while the other was shut down on December 20 due to a technical fault. CEB aims to restore both units by early January, ensuring that daily power supply remains unaffected due to stable hydropower generation.
