CeraPhi Energy to Implement Geothermal Heating System at Scunthorpe General Hospital
CeraPhi Energy, a Norfolk-based company, has secured a contract to install a geothermal heating system at Scunthorpe General Hospital. The project will utilize an existing 550-meter borehole to create a low-carbon heating solution, replacing traditional gas-fired boilers.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs, aligning with the NHS's Net Zero objectives. CeraPhi, founded in 2020 and headquartered in Great Yarmouth, specializes in deep geothermal energy.
The installation is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of February next year. Humber Health Partnership's Alex Best stated that this geothermal system aims to enhance building efficiency and comfort for patients.
