Jose Antonio Kast, Chile's President-elect, has appointed key cabinet members ahead of his March 11 inauguration, including Jorge Quiroz as Finance Minister and Daniel Mas as head of the mining ministry. Quiroz, an advisor on Kast's economic program, will tackle economic challenges, while Fernando Rabat, criticized for his past defense of Pinochet, will lead the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. Francisco Perez Mackenna will serve as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Trinidad Steinert will focus on crime reduction as Minister of Public Security.
