A new China Medical Team of 19 professionals arrived in Rwanda on January 22, 2026, continuing a 45-year medical partnership as part of a broader diplomatic relationship. Following two months of Kinyarwanda training, the team will serve at Kibungo and Masaka hospitals, building on previous efforts that have treated over 730,000 patients since 1982. The initiative underscores the strong economic and cultural ties between China and Rwanda, coinciding with the 55th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
