Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has announced a historic investment of 131 billion pesos in Guaymas Port, which includes a liquefaction plant for gas exports to Asia and a pipeline expansion by Cenagas. These projects aim to boost local economic development, enhance energy infrastructure, and establish Guaymas as a strategic logistics hub, while also promoting marine biodiversity through the Sonoran Artificial Reef System. The liquefaction plant is expected to begin operations in 2028, potentially reducing natural gas costs by 30% in southern Mexico.
