Coal Gas India Ltd Advances Synthetic Natural Gas Production at Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal

Coal Gas India Ltd is advancing a Rs 13,052-crore coal gasification project in Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal, aimed at producing synthetic natural gas (SNG) by 2030. In collaboration with Projects & Development India Ltd, CGIL has invited bids for an Air Separation Unit to support the project, which will utilize surface coal gasification technology to produce 80,000 Nm³ per hour of SNG. The joint venture includes Coal India holding a 51% stake and GAIL 49%.
