The Coast Water Works Development Agency (CWWDA) has launched a 4.6-megawatt solar power plant in Kenya's coastal region to reduce electricity costs and enhance water supply stability. Funded by the World Bank at a cost of Sh670 million, the project aims to lower the agency's monthly power bill and improve water delivery reliability for 11 boreholes. With 60% of Phase One completed, the initiative is expected to be finished by March 31, 2026, and includes plans for future expansion to Mombasa.
