Col. Olalekan Bamiteko has formally assumed office as the 12th Rector of the Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology (NACEST) in Makurdi. The announcement was made by Lt.

Nkuma Mba, acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations. The handover ceremony marks a significant transition aimed at consolidating academic excellence and advancing staff welfare. In his inaugural address, Bamiteko expressed gratitude to Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen.

Waidi Shaibu and pledged to uphold the confidence placed in him. He emphasized the importance of students' welfare, staff development, and improved institutional standards. Bamiteko also called for a harmonious working environment and urged management to focus on enhancing academic quality. Prior to this appointment, he served as the commandant of Command Secondary School in Ipaja, Lagos.
