Col. Steve L. Campbell was promoted to brigadier general and appointed chief of staff-air of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard during a ceremony at Muñiz Air National Guard Base on February 6, 2026.

The ceremony was presided over by Brig. Gen. Humberto Pabón Jr., who highlighted Campbell's operational expertise and contributions to Puerto Rico's mission. Campbell previously commanded the 601st Air Operations Center at Tyndall Air Force Base, where he oversaw critical air defense operations.
