In 2025, the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) published sector assessments across various industries and established a Centre of Excellence in Competition Law (CECL) to promote evidence-based policy-making. Key findings included over 90% of gold trading occurring informally, leading to a recommendation for a regulatory authority, and the identification of monopolistic practices in the LNG sector. The CCP also signed multiple memoranda of understanding to enhance inter-agency cooperation and enforcement.
