Congo Launches Feasibility Studies for 510 MW Kitéké Hydropower Project

The Republic of the Congo has launched feasibility studies for the Kitéké hydropower project on the Loufoulakari River, aiming for an installed capacity of 510 megawatts. A consortium of Lincoln and China Energy will oversee the studies, which will assess technical, environmental, and social factors, with construction anticipated to begin in mid-2027. This initiative is part of the government's goal to double the national electricity generation capacity to 1,500 MW by 2030, emphasizing renewable energy development.
