The Conroe City Council has approved up to $400,000 for legal defense in two lawsuits, including one challenging the results of a charter amendment election and another regarding the rejection of a petition for a May 2026 election on collective bargaining. The council previously allocated $150,000 for the first lawsuit, which has raised concerns among residents about the expenditure and the respect for voter decisions. The first hearing for the collective bargaining case is set for January 9.
