The Cooperative University of Kenya is set to develop a 40MW solar power plant in partnership with Dahai Shandong, pending regulatory approval. The $50 million project aims to supply electricity to the national grid and reduce financial pressures on the university and the state.
The partnership will enable the university to avoid upfront costs while benefiting from lower electricity prices and revenue sharing. The plant is anticipated to be operational by the end of the year.
