DEFENSE

The Cosham Army Reserve Centre officially reopened on February 4 after a £492,000 refurbishment funded by SERFCA. The upgrades included a new roof, improved flooring, enhanced lighting, and modern facilities, addressing longstanding issues such as leaks and unstable floors.

The refurbishment aims to improve training conditions for the 98 soldiers stationed in Portsmouth and encourage more recruits among reservists and cadets. The project took 18 months and is part of SERFCA's goal to increase cadet numbers by 30% by 2030.
