CranioSense Secures $5.5 Million in Federal Grants for Noninvasive ICP Monitoring System Development
CranioSense, Inc. has been awarded approximately $5.5 million in non-dilutive funding from the NIH Blueprint MedTech Program and the U.S. Department of Defense's Joint Warfighter Medical Research Program to advance its noninvasive intracranial pressure (ICP) diagnostic and monitoring system.
This funding will support device development and validation, facilitating market launch. CranioSense's technology employs near-infrared optical sensors and algorithms for real-time, noninvasive ICP diagnosis.
Once FDA-approved, it aims to standardize ICP assessment in emergency departments. Future developments will include additional biomarkers for brain health and AI-driven clinical support. The company is also backed by investments from angel investors and venture firms to aid in regulatory achievement and pilot deployment.
