Croatian Renewable Energy Sector Faces Crisis as Key Projects Remain Blocked
GEOTHERMAL
RES Croatia, SolarPower Europe, and WindEurope have expressed urgent concerns to the European Commission regarding the stagnation of 60 renewable energy projects in Croatia. With a total capacity of 3.5 GW and investments of €3 billion at stake, these projects face abandonment without immediate action.
The associations warn that the government’s gradual subsidy phase-out and ongoing regulatory delays jeopardize the country's energy transition and economic stability. Furthermore, inadequate market conditions hinder local industry competitiveness and investment in renewable energy.
