Czech Republic's Gas Imports Rise 25% in 2024, Driven by Eemshaven LNG Terminal

NATURAL GAS

In 2024, the Czech Republic's net natural gas imports rose by 25% to 6.78 billion cubic meters, driven by increased shipments from the Eemshaven LNG terminal in the Netherlands. The terminal, operational since September 2022, supplied 72 LNG shipments totaling 6.44 billion cubic meters, entirely free of Russian gas. ČEZ has secured capacity at Eemshaven until 2027 and is pursuing contracts at a new terminal in Stade, Germany.
