DAC Approves Rs 3.60 Lakh Crore Defence Acquisition Proposals for Indian Armed Forces

The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved capital acquisitions worth Rs 3.60 lakh crore to bolster the combat readiness of the Indian Armed Forces. Key approvals include Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) for the Indian Air Force, anti-tank mines and vehicle platform overhauls for the Army, and P-8I aircraft for the Navy, along with power generators for self-reliance. The Indian Coast Guard will enhance its surveillance capabilities with new systems for its Dornier aircraft.
