The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) will select a contractor for the KDDX destroyer project in the first half of 2026. A preliminary briefing was held to discuss the project details, including timelines and performance requirements.
The KDDX project aims to construct six 6,000-ton-class mini-Aegis ships with a total budget of 7.8 trillion Korean won, utilizing domestic technology. Despite delays due to competition, DAPA plans to deliver the lead ship by the end of 2032.
