A National Assembly panel reported that the Dasu hydropower project will take 64 years to complete under current budget allocations, while the Diamer-Bhasha Dam will take 46 years. The committee highlighted that the allocation of Rs20 billion for Dasu is insufficient against its total cost of Rs1,424 billion. A proposal to prioritize critical mega projects in the next fiscal budget was supported, alongside recommendations for transparent recruitment practices and updates on key projects like the Pat Feeder Canal in Baluchistan.
