Minister of Works David Umahi stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has positively impacted the South East region and will receive support in the 2027 elections. He emphasized Tinubu's inclusive governance and significant infrastructure investments, which he claims have ended years of exclusion for the region.

Umahi highlighted ongoing projects such as the establishment of an Army Training Depot in Ebonyi, the operationalization of the Enyimba Power Plant, and major road projects including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Second Niger Bridge. He dismissed allegations of procurement violations and emphasized compliance with the Procurement Act. Umahi urged South East leaders to resist misinformation and focus on national unity, asserting that the region has made notable progress under Tinubu's administration.
