The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has launched the Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems to bolster counter-drone capabilities ahead of major events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With a $115 million investment and a $1.5 billion contract for advanced technologies, DHS aims to enhance security by enabling tracking and disabling of threatening drones, supported by $250 million in grants to states involved in the events.
