DLA Energy Innovates Fuel System to Address Arctic Challenges in Military Operations

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy has upgraded its Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) system to mitigate battery failures in extreme cold, which previously hindered military fueling operations. By modifying the software to utilize built-in barcode readers for QR codes, the DLA produced over 33,000 durable tags, facilitating secure fuel purchases at more than 600 global locations. This innovation enhances operational readiness for military personnel in Arctic conditions.
