DEFENSE

The Department of National Defence has begun constructing a Land-Based Test Facility at Hartlen Point, Nova Scotia, to support the Royal Canadian Navy's River-class destroyers, with completion expected by early 2028. The project, managed by PCL Construction, will create approximately 200 jobs and is designed for combat systems integration. This initiative aligns with Canada’s NATO defense spending commitments and aims to bolster maritime security and international naval operations.
