GEOTHERMAL
The Independent Regulatory Commission (IRC) of Dominica has announced a plan to revamp the electricity pricing framework aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and empowering consumers. During a stakeholders forum, the IRC unveiled a modernization strategy for tariffs, including the introduction of time-of-use rates to be implemented by Dominica Electricity Services Ltd (DOMLEC).
The new structure will impact various customer segments, with a proposed maximum demand charge for larger consumers. The Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce is advocating for a more inclusive energy consumption threshold for small businesses.
