An unidentified drone was spotted over the airstrip of Solar Industries in Nagpur on December 9 and 10, prompting security concerns and a police investigation. The Nagpur Rural Police have filed a case against unknown individuals after the company's security reported the drone's aerial surveillance activities.

The facility, inaugurated in January 2025 by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, focuses on explosives manufacturing and drone technology, including Loiter Munitions and Counter Drone Systems. Solar Industries has also developed the indigenous 'Nagastra - 1' Loiter Munition, which has been inducted into the Indian Army. The police are treating the drone sighting seriously due to the sensitive nature of the establishment.
