Durham's Seaham Garden Village is launching a mine water district heat network that utilizes geothermal energy from disused coal mines for ultra-low carbon heating. The initiative, spearheaded by Durham County Council and partners, includes enhancements to the Energy Centre at Dawdon and infrastructure development by Lumsden & Carroll. Additionally, plans for 211 supported housing apartments have been submitted for council approval.
