A collaboration of Dutch companies, including Thales, Neways, and NXP, has resulted in a new microchip for radar systems designed to detect unwanted drones. This development, initiated in 2015, focuses on enhancing detection capabilities while reducing costs.

A 10-year partnership was announced to further develop this technology, which will be integrated into new minesweeper ships for the Dutch and Belgian navies. The project aims to bolster the Netherlands' position in defense technology.
