Dyess Air Force Base Begins $1.6 Billion Upgrade for B-21 Raider with $26.7 Million Fuels Lab Project

Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, commenced a $26.7 million project for a fuels lab and refueler truck yard, part of a $1.6 billion modernization effort for the B-21 Raider. Covering 37 acres, this initiative includes 24 planned infrastructure projects to enhance the base.
The project is funded through the National Defense Authorization Act and managed by the Rapid Capabilities Office, with execution by the Program Integration Office at Dyess. Completion of the fuels lab and truck yard is expected by October 2027, providing economic benefits and job opportunities during construction.
