Eavor Technologies has launched the world's first closed-loop geothermal power project in Geretsried, Bavaria, successfully delivering electricity to the commercial power grid. Utilizing its innovative 'Eavor-Loop' wells, the project generates heat and power without fluid interaction with underground formations, addressing traditional geothermal challenges. Funded by a €91.6 million European Commission grant, the facility is designed to supply 64 MWth and 8 MWe to the local municipality, with significant advancements in drilling technology reducing time and costs.
