The U.S. Embassy in Lima congratulated EIG on acquiring a 49.87% stake in Transportadora de Gas del Perú (TGP), operator of Peru's main gas pipeline. This acquisition is expected to enhance energy security and attract investments in the region, as TGP supplies nearly 40% of the country's electricity.

The deal was finalized after receiving necessary approvals, following an agreement with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. TGP is negotiating to extend its concession until 2043, contingent on further investments.
