Electric Hydrogen to Supply 240MW Electrolyzers for Synergen's Texas Green Ammonia Project

AMMONIAELECTROLYZERHYDROGEN

Electric Hydrogen is set to supply 240MW of PEM electrolyzers to Synergen Green Energy's green ammonia project in Texas, one of its largest awards. The agreement includes two 120MW plants as part of a front-end engineering design.

The project, utilizing Topsoe ammonia synthesis technology, aims to produce up to 210,000 tonnes of ammonia annually, targeting a startup in Q4 2028, pending final investment decision. The ammonia will cater to maritime applications and industrial users in Europe and Asia, though no offtake agreements are confirmed.

This deal follows Electric Hydrogen's recent large-scale green hydrogen projects across North America and Europe. The company claims its electrolyzers can deliver among the lowest-cost green hydrogen due to high efficiency and reduced costs from factory construction.

Electric Hydrogen's first 100MW plant in Texas is expected to start production by late 2025. Synergen is part of the Skeiron Group and plans another 210,000 tonne plant in Nebraska, targeting operations for 2029.
