A report by Ember indicates that geothermal energy could replace up to 42% of the EU's electricity generation from coal and gas, providing stable electricity at under €100 per MWh. The report highlights Hungary as having the highest potential, followed by Poland, Germany, and France, with a total competitive capacity of 43 GW identified.
