Enel Group Launches 611MW Solar Park in Arinos, Brazil
Enel Group inaugurated the 611MW Arinos solar park in Minas Gerais, Brazil, featuring over 1 million photovoltaic modules. The investment totaled R$2.8 billion ($500 million), creating over 3,500 jobs, including 1,030 for local residents, generating R$7 million in labor income.
The plant is expected to produce approximately 1.4TWh of electricity annually, enough to supply 680,000 households, while avoiding around 790,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. The facility employs AI and machine learning for predictive maintenance and utilizes drones for inspections.
Community initiatives include local employment prioritization, professional training courses for 192 graduates, and support for social inclusion through energy cost reductions for local organizations. Additionally, a seed bank for reforestation and an open-air market for local producers were established.
