Italy's Energy Community Initiative empowers small municipalities to participate in local energy markets and enhance the energy transition, exemplified by the Solidale Area Vasta Etrusca Community Energy Resource (CER SAVE). This cooperative model, supported by the European project Promoter-Interreg Europe, facilitates resource sharing and aims to combat energy poverty through a rotation fund. As of late 2025, Italy has nearly 2,600 community energy configurations, with a significant number actively promoting renewable energy solutions.
