Engie has entered a 10-year biomethane supply agreement with PepsiCo UK, marking a pioneering partnership in Britain between a biomethane producer and the food industry. Under the agreement, PepsiCo UK will acquire 60 gigawatt hours of biomethane annually from Engie's upcoming anaerobic digestion plant, which is set to begin operations in late 2027 and will serve around 5,000 households. The £70 million investment aims to support Engie's broader goal of decarbonizing industrial sectors and expanding its biomethane production capacity across Europe.
