Eni's Nguya Floating Gas Factory Begins LNG Supply to Europe from Republic of the Congo

NATURAL GAS

Eni's floating gas factory, the Nguya, has started supplying LNG to Europe from the Republic of the Congo. The vessel, larger than the largest US aircraft carrier, processes millions of tonnes of gas annually and cools it to -162°C for transport.

Eni aims to leverage floating LNG technology to enhance operational efficiency and security, particularly in regions with challenging onshore developments. The project is part of a broader trend in the industry, where floating LNG is becoming more viable due to reduced costs and logistical advantages.
