ERC System Initiates Flight Testing of Full-Size Romeo eVTOL Prototype in Germany
ADVANCED AIR MOBILITY (AAM) / NEXT-GEN AVIATION
ERC System has begun flight testing its Romeo eVTOL prototype, one of Europe's largest, with a wingspan of 16 meters and a weight of nearly three tonnes. Initial tests started in November 2025, and the company aims for certification of a hybrid-electric version by 2031.
The aircraft is designed for inter-hospital patient transport and features eight vertical lift units. ERC plans to expand into uncrewed aerial logistics by Q2 2026, building on its experience with heavy uncrewed prototypes.
