Ethiopia has awarded a contract for the development of the 150 MW Weranso Solar Plant to South Africa's Thabo Consulting Engineering and Portugal's Sun Business Development. Valued at approximately USD 706,790, the project aims to enhance renewable energy generation and includes a feasibility study, environmental assessments, and a resettlement action plan. This initiative, part of Ethiopia's strategy to boost clean energy capacity by 2030, will cover about 250 hectares and connect to a nearby substation via a new high-voltage transmission line.
