EU Announces €90 Billion Loan to Support Ukraine's Military and Economy Amid Ongoing Conflict

DEFENSE

The European Union has unveiled a €90 billion loan program to support Ukraine's military and economic recovery through 2026 and 2027, with €60 billion designated for military needs and €30 billion for budget assistance. The loans will only be repaid after the conclusion of the conflict with Russia, contingent on Ukraine implementing democratic reforms and combating corruption. The EU aims to begin disbursing funds by April, pending approval from member states and the European Parliament.
