Federal officials have canceled emergency dredging at Oceanside Harbor after a December 2025 survey confirmed that the channel remains navigable, with depths of 8 feet in the southern half and 13 feet in the northern half. The U.S.

Army Corps of Engineers plans to conduct its annual spring dredging to deepen the channel to over 25 feet before Memorial Day and will accelerate maintenance dredging contracts, with advertising set for late January and awards in early March 2026. Boaters are advised to avoid the harbor entrance during low tides or large swells due to hazardous shoaling conditions.
