Final Contract Awarded for Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project by US Army Corps of Engineers

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded the final contract for the Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project on the Tennessee River, valued at $192,143,924.90. C.J.
Mahan Construction Company LLC will construct downstream approach walls and breach the existing dam. The upstream approach wall is 70% complete, while the new lock chamber is 76% finished. Once operational, the new lock will accommodate nine jumbo barges at a time, enhancing navigation efficiency.
