Fire crews in Borger, Texas, conducted a prescribed burn to create a defensible space against wildfires. The operation took place on Industrial Blvd in Hutchinson County, aiming to protect the south end of the city.

This burn follows a similar effort in 2024 that contributed to firefighting efforts during the Windy Deuce Fire. Additional prescribed burns are planned to further bolster fire defenses, particularly in the Rock Creek addition. Residents are reminded to remain fire-ready due to prevailing dry conditions.
